Isn’t marble a funny thing?
It’s the great supporter,
A champion of gravity,
The substratum of society,
If you think about it,
And yet, at the same time,
It’s so frivolous, ubiquitous
To the point we use it to hold
Wine bottles and coffee pots,
Plates, knives, and forks,
We eat over the stuff,
Spill crumbs and grease on it,
And it turns the other cheek,
Looks on, never even flinching,
Poised and ready to embrace
The next task, as if bound
By some divine duty to soldier,
Silent, hushed even, onward.
It almost makes you wonder
If that’s what Rodin
Had in mind all along.

    Reblogged this on Vagrant Poetry.

Tony Brown, slam poet and author of the blog, Dark Matter took my advice and checked out your site and liked it. You two really do have a similar approach to life and poetry. Fast becoming two of my favorite blogs. I realize I’m not your target demographic. But to hell with it, a reader is a reader.

I read this in my email earlier today, but seeing it now with the photo is so much better. Very nice.

I don’t think images ever show up in the emails; I have another WordPress blog that I sometimes add pictures to and they never show up.
